Welcome to Cassie's AIDS Walk Page!
I am participating in the 2018 San Diego County AIDS Walk & Run. I've participated in AIDS walks in various cities since 2006. That's over a decade of walking! Please support my efforts to raise money for critical services provided to those living with HIV and AIDS across San Diego County.
These are really uncertain times (like I have to tell you that...ugh) for social services and public health in general. HIV services are not immune to these funding constraints. We've made so much progress in recent years with PrEP (a medication that actually prevents HIV infections!) and with wonderful treatment options available to those living with HIV. In fact, the CDC released a statement this past year admitting that undetectable = untransmittable. This means that those living with HIV who have an undetectable viral load are not able to transmit the virus to others. Pretty dang cool. It's an exciting time to be working in this field and all these wonderful things are going to help us get to ZERO new infections at some point! Hopefully in our lifetimes or even the next ten years!
That's where you come in...
