Food Bank 2
The San Diego Food Bank is giving away FREE fruits, vegetables and other food items on the first Tuesday of every month to individuals, families and seniors in this area. Receive emergency food, pre-screen for Food Stamps and sign up for a range of other services, including employment and medical as well as low-cost utility programs. For more information, visit the San Diego Food Bank website. Please bring bags for your items. The parking lot is used for the distribution, so come early to find parking on the street. The line begins to form around 8 am.

Saturday, June 18, 10 am, NYAP - SD Foster Care Orientation
NYAPIt takes a community to raise a foster kid!  The National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP- San Diego) would like to invite you to learn more about foster parenting AND/OR how you can help support a foster kid!  NYAP-SD is a foster family agency working with kids ages 12-18 from San Diego County. There are many children and youth in San Diego County right now who need homes, but there is a need for many more good foster families.  Please join us at The Center to learn more about NYAP-SD and how to become part of the foster care community.  Please RSVP to Jane at

Camping is Here, Aug. 26 & 27!
Join us August 26 & 27 for camping at Campland on the Bay! To make your reservation, call 800.422.9386 and ask for the Jane Schmoll Group or select any site that is available.  Go to for information on the park. When you call be sure to have the number in your party and size of your camper or tent. The reserved sites are on hold till May 30. There is free WiFi at all sites. Some sites are full hookups with sewer, water and electricity, while some are water and electric only. You can choose a site with the group or anywhere in the park. 

We will have a pot luck dinner on Saturday the 27th at the beach front.  and will schedule other activities which we'll post in July. You must make your reservation through Campland, but please let us know once you have your reservation made. If you have any questions, email Jane at

This group is growing rapidly. Join other parents and kids every Friday in the auditorium at The Center. Enjoy arts & crafts and organized play. Bring your tricycle or big wheel and join the fun!

Saturday, June 4, 1-3 pm, North County Family (NCF) Playgroup
This group focuses on children ages 0-8, but all ages are welcome. Older kids can help assist the little ones in art and play activities and are given a badge to wear that identifies them as helpers. This group meets in Carlsbad.

Free to Be! Call for Date and Location
This is a playgroup for gender-variant children up to age 12, which will allow them to be themselves in a friendly, supportive environment.  Friends, family and siblings are welcome.  For more information contact Marcie at or 619.239.7335.
